Paws-itive Training Advice

We value not only the physical wellbeing of your dog but their behavioural health as well! Early socialization and training are critical steps to build a healthy relationship between your dog and their world. Understanding canine body language and how to communicate with your companion is not always intuitive and easy.

We strongly encourage professional training with our trusted local training partners who can help you teach good habits while forming a strong, trusting relationship with your dog:

We are guided by evidence-based medicine which has shown that reward-based training approaches are more effective and better protect dog welfare. In contrast, aversive methods (such as prong/shock collars, loud noises to startle, forced roll-overs) can negatively impact animal welfare, the human-animal bond, and training success. For more information about choosing a reward-based dog trainer, check out the BCSPCA's AnimalKind website.
